Microsoft promotes its Bing search engine by making it Internet Explorer's default home page, but there is no reason you can't switch to another search provider -- or, for that matter, any other website you choose. Make Google your browser's default home page with just a few clicks.
Launch Internet Explorer, and then browse to Google.com.
Select Internet Explorer's "Tools" button, and then click "Internet Options."
Select the "Use current" button to replace the current default home screen with Google.
Select the radio button labeled "Start with homepage." The next time you start Internet Explorer, the browser will open to a single tab with Google as your home page.
Select the "Apply" button, and then click "OK" to save the new setting.
- Restore the default settings for Internet Explorer using the Internet Options dialog box. Select the "Advanced" tab, click the "Reset" button under the "Reset Internet Explorer settings" heading, and then select the "Reset" button on the dialog with the warning, "Are you sure you want to reset all Internet Explorer settings?" Restart Internet Explorer to complete the process.
