You can automatically forward all your email communication from AOL to another provider so you have all your messages stored in one place. Even though AOL does not directly provide this feature, you can set up a Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo account to fetch messages from the AOL server. These services can also be set up to store a local copy of all messages on the server so you can access your email from anywhere.
Forwarding Your AOL Emails to Gmail
Click the gear button in your Gmail inbox and select "Settings" to open the settings for your email account.
Click on the "Accounts" tab and select "Add A POP3 Mail Account You Own" from the Check Mail From Other Accounts (Using POP3) section.
Enter your full AOL email address in the text box and press "Next Step."
Choose the settings for synchronizing your email messages to your Gmail. For example, if you want to keep a local copy on the Google server so you can access your communication from anywhere, check "Leave A Copy Of Retrieved Messages On The Server." Check "Always Use A Secure Connection (SSL) When Retrieving Mail" to download all your emails securely.
Click "Add Account" to add your AOL account to Gmail and automatically forward all your future emails.
Forward AOL Emails to Yahoo
