The University of Abuja is an extension of the University of Nigeria. The school offers pre-degree, undergraduate, and graduate coursework. Undergraduate fields of study include languages (Arabic, English) to sciences (botany, zoology), and religious studies (Islamic studies, philosophy and religious studies). Departments include Agriculture, Arts, Educations, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Management Science, Science, Social Science, Veterinary Science, and Remedial Studies. Within each faculty are sub-departments offering specialized courses.

2 African University of Science and Technology
The African University of Science and Technology (AUST) is a pan-African institution. The goal of the school is to educate students and advance knowledge in fields such as science and technology so as to best serve Africa in the coming century. AUST looks to develop new modes of higher education in Africa by maintaining autonomy from the government in its daily operations while still being an arm of, for, and by the state. Departments within AUST are Computer Science, Materials Science and Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Pure and Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics.

3 Veritas University
Also known as the Catholic University of Nigeria, Veritas University nurtures morality, self-reliance and an entrepreneurial spirit, not solely for the benefit of the graduate, but for Nigerian society at large. Two colleges exist within the university: the College of Management and Social Sciences, Arts and Theology Studies and the College of Natural and Applied Sciences. Departments within the colleges include Economics, Sociology, Biology, and Pure and Applied Chemistry, through which programs various bachelor’s degrees are awarded.
