A champagne cocktail dress is luxe by definition. The elegant color, combined with a dressy fabric -- think silk, chiffon or satin -- and sometimes beaded adornments make such a dress a chic and timeless choice. Pick a shoe to match the class factor of your frock, and you’ll be sitting pretty.

1 Match the Mood

The soft sophistication of a champagne cocktail dress is best suited to footwear that falls into the same category. Steer clear of dark, heavy shoes and instead go dainty and light. Gold, silver and bronze strappy heels both blend and pop, especially when the shoe features a smattering of rhinestones along the straps or a crystal embellishment across the toe. For even more streamlined simplicity, opt for a nude pump. Depending upon the fabric of your dress, a satin or patent finish works well; select a color in a variety of depths, from a soft, pinky blush to a shade of ecru or beige that matches your skin tone. Finish the overall look with a coordinating bag and jewelry to carry on the color scheme of your shoes. For instance, rock nude peep-toe pumps, a beige and silver-embossed envelope clutch and dangling rhinestone and silver earrings.
