Whether done in stripes, florals or a graphic print, the classic color combo of navy and white makes a dress look both fresh and sophisticated. The shoes you pair with it skew the look in either direction, so consider the occasion and your own sense of style when making your footwear pick.

1 Understated Finish

Neutral white and near-neutral navy team well with simple neutral shoes. Go with a white espadrille style or navy ballet flats if you prefer a matching approach or score style points by introducing a bit of contrast. Pair nude, tan, cognac or brown strappy wedges with a navy-and-white print sundress and finish the look with delicate layered necklaces or simple gold hoops.

2 Take Notice

If color’s your thing, don’t miss an opportunity to style your dress with nautical flair. A casual navy-and-white striped tank dress is ready to set sail when paired with red canvas slip-ons or red patent T-strap sandals. Complete the vibe with an anchor charm bracelet and red tote. For a variation on the theme, swap red shoes for bright yellow or hot pink ballet flats and slip on a stack of colorful bangles to tie the hues together.
