Although you can recover and edit comments you make on Facebook posts by simply clicking the pencil icon, the site doesn't allow you to correct status updates in the same way. Instead, you have to delete and repost the update. Facebook doesn't place a limit on how long you have to recover a mangled status update, but you'll lose any likes and comments on the post.
Go to the status update you want to change and click the arrow in the corner of the post.
Select the "Delete" option from the menu.
Click “Delete” in the dialog box that appears to confirm your choice.
Repost the status update with the necessary changes.
