How to Add Money From PayPal to a Prepaid MasterCard

Adding money from PayPal to a prepaid MasterCard can be simple.

PayPal is a popular way for individuals to send or receive money without paying costly wire transfer fees or compromising the security of their personal or bank information. To withdraw funds from your PayPal account, you must request a paper check to be mailed to you or you must transfer the funds to a bank account. However, if you do not have a bank account or for other reasons do not wish to use that method of withdrawal, it is possible to add money from your PayPal account to a prepaid MasterCard.

Purchase a prepaid MasterCard and follow the accompanying instructions to activate and register the card with your personal information.

Call the customer service number found on the back of your card and request the account number and routing number of your card. Write this information down and keep it in a secure place.

Log into your PayPal account and click the "Profile" link under the "My Account" tab. Select the "Add a Bank Account" option.

Enter the account number and routing number for your prepaid MasterCard, just as you would with a checking account. PayPal will then deposit two very small amounts of money into your account.

Call customer service again to obtain the information regarding the two deposits PayPal made and then log into your PayPal account and provide this information to PayPal as prompted. Your prepaid MasterCard will then be verified.

Once the verification process is complete, to withdraw funds, log into your PayPal account and click the "Withdraw" link under the "My Account" tab. Select the "Transfer Funds to Bank Account" option, then select the account your prepaid MasterCard is listed under and the amount you wish to transfer.
