The National Personnel Records Center receives approximately 5,100 military record requests per day. The NPRC asks that anyone with a pending military records request wait 10 days before checking the status of the request.

Email the NPRC customer service center at mpr.status@nara.gov. In the email, include the request number if available, as well as the name, address and phone number of the requester, and the veteran's branch of service. NPRC will reply to the email with a projected completion date for the military records request. If you prefer, you may also call the NPRC or visit them in person to check the status of your request.

2 Call the NPRC Customer Service Line

Call the NPRC Customer Service Line at 314-801-0800 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. CST Monday through Friday to speak with a customer service representative about the status of a military records request.
