You won't see a big "Edit" button on the screen for your droid's contacts, but the option is only one click away. Once you have a contact's information on your screen, you can find the edit option in the screen's menu. This will enable you to edit the contact's phone numbers, email addresses, or any other fields on the contact card.
Tap the shortcut to all your device's applications at the bottom of your home page, then your "People" app.
Tap on the contact you want to edit, then tap the Menu icon resembling a line of three boxes, in the top right corner of the screen.
Tap "Edit" in the menu that displays, then tap on the phone number you wish to edit.
Make your desired edits, then tap the "Done" button to apply your changes.
- You can add extra fields for additional phone numbers for each of your contacts by tapping "Add new" below the contact's current phone number. All the phone numbers you have added are listed nest to the contact.
- You can add or remove a contact to your favorites list by tapping the silhouette of a star at the top of his People page. Tapping the star will turn it from blue to white or white to blue. A white star means the contact is in your favorites, and a blue means he is not.
- If you have multiple contact entries for the same person, you can merge the two contacts into one. Go to the editing screen for the contact entry you want to keep, tap the menu icon at the top of the screen, tap the "Join" menu entry, then tap the duplicate contact. Your Android will add the second entry's information to the first entry and delete the second.
