How to Activate Astral Vision

You can activate astral vision by routinely practicing a meditative technique.

During meditative experiences, sometimes people find themselves able to see their surroundings through closed eyelids. Some practitioners of New Age activities call this astral vision or astral sight. This is heavily linked with astral projection, which is the process of intentionally inducing an out-of-body experience. Astral vision typically precedes astral projection, and is typically achieved in what’s called the trance state.

Find a quiet place where you will be free from outside distractions. You can either choose to lie down or sit in a comfortable position. You need a place that is calming to you and where you will not be disturbed by people or loud noises. In order to achieve the deep concentration needed to activate astral sight, it is imperative that you be in an atmosphere that is very relaxing and conducive to meditation.

Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. By focusing on your breathing, you will be able to free your mind from other thoughts and distractions; if you have a distracted, unquiet mind, you will not be able to enter into the trance state, which is necessary for astral sight. Feel each breath coming into your body. If it helps, pretend that the air you’re inhaling is colored energy. Feel it coming in through your nose, circulating through your whole body, and then exiting through your mouth. Continue doing this until you feel that you have emptied your mind of most thoughts and distractions.

Imagine the feeling of falling. This helps “deepen” your level of consciousness. Basically, you are trying to put your body asleep, while keeping your mind awake. By imagining the feeling of falling, you will start to lose awareness of your body. You will know that you’re doing it right if your body starts to go numb. Keep doing this until your whole body is completely numb.

Focus on your eyelids. Don’t try to open them; simply gently become aware of them. Become aware of what you are seeing behind your closed eyelids. If you start to see colors or shapes, you’re on the right track. Don’t get too excited and follow the shapes and colors where they lead. By focusing on your eyelids in a relaxed state, you have the possibility of achieving astral vision. If you are in a deep trance state, you have a higher chance of being able to see the area around you through your closed eyelids. Keep practicing this technique as often as you’d like; you should see improvement quickly.
