How to Balance Your Chakras

Although your body contains dozens of chakras, the main ones run along your spinal column and regulate your energy states. These chakras are various colors, depending on their locations, and are always spinning, continuously supporting your bodily functions. However, illnesses and negative emotions can block the free-flowing energy of your chakras, causing further illnesses or negative emotions. Adopting a regular practice of balancing your chakras can keep them, and your body/emotions, functioning properly. Here is how to balance your chakras.

1 How to Balance Your Chakras
2 Lay down
Lay down on your bed or on the floor. Close your eyes. Start breathing deeply and slowly. Inhale, imagining a white light filling your body, from your feet to the top of your head. Then “see” the white light pouring out the top of your head, like a water fountain.
3 Exhale
Exhale, bringing that light from the top of your head down around the outside of your body. Let this brilliant white light create a bubble around your body.
4 Inhale that light
Inhale that light into the soles of your feet and on into your body, filling the inside of your body with white light again. Repeat this cycle several times (steps 2 and 3) until your body is totally relaxed. Let the thoughts drift out of your mind. With your eyes still closed, complete the following steps, trying to “see,” in your imagination, the individual movements of each of your chakras.
5 Bring your attention to the base of your spine
Bring your attention to the base of your spine. This is where your root chakra is located. It is red and governs your “fight or flight” response. “See” and “feel” this chakra slowly rotating for a few minutes.
6 Move your attention up to the area of your stomach
Move your attention up to the area of your stomach just below your navel. This is the chakra of creativity and sexual organs and is orange in color. Imagine it slowly spinning.
7 Move your attention
Move your attention up to the area of your stomach just above your navel. This is your solar plexus chakra, it is the color yellow, and governs your nervous system. Watch it slowly spinning for a few minutes, feeling the warmth envelope your stomach.
8 Move your attention up to the area of your heart
Move your attention up to the area of your heart. This chakra is green and governs (not surprisingly) feelings of love. Imagine it spinning slowly, it’s energy caressing your heart.
9 Move your attention
Move your attention up to your throat. This chakra is blue and rules expression and communication. Imagine this chakra rotating slowly, soothing your entire throat area.
10 Move your attention up to the center of your forehead
Move your attention up to the center of your forehead. This is the well-known “third eye” chakra, and its color is indigo. This chakra governs your intuitive/psychic ability. Imagine it slowly spinning, warming your entire forehead.
11 Bring your attention to the top of your head
Bring your attention to the top of your head. This is your crown chakra, its color is violet, and it governs your spiritual nature. Visualize this chakra spinning on top of your head.
12 Bring your attention
Bring your attention back to the base of your spine (your root chakra) and, with one long breath, “pull” it all the way up, from the root chakra to the crown chakra. Dissolve all of their individual colors into white (the combination of all colors.)
13 Keep your chakras
Regular practice of this exercise will keep your chakras balanced and will keep your body and emotions finely tuned.
