Facebook provides several configuration options to enable others to comment on your photos and posts. First, you need to make sure that friends or others can see your posts to begin with by changing your privacy settings to allow them to view your posts. Once your posts are visible, people can comment as well, assuming you have also set the option to allow people to post on your timeline. Enabling photo comments requires you to modify some of your general settings in the Timeline and Tagging section of Facebook.

Select the gear icon and choose the "Privacy Settings" option.

Select the "Edit" button for the "Who Can See Your Future Posts?" option. Select an option from the drop-down menu to select who can see and comment on your posts. For example, select "Everyone" to allow all Facebook users to view and comment on your posts.

Select the "Timeline and Tagging" link in the sidebar.

Click the "Edit" button for the "Who Can See See Posts You've Been Tagged In On Your Timeline?" option. Select an option from the drop-down menu to determine who can see tagged posts of you. Several options exist ranging from only you to everyone. You can also select the "Custom" option to specify individual people or lists.

Click the "Edit" button for the "Review Posts Friends Tag You In Before They Appear On Your Timeline?" option. Choose "Disabled" from the drop-down list to allow others to tag posts of you without needing your approval.

Choose the "Edit" button for "Review Tags People Add To Your Own Posts Before the Tags Appear on Facebook?" option. Select "Disabled" from the drop-down menu to automatically approve tags.
