With a shaft height that’s neither short nor tall, heeled mid-calf boots fall somewhere in between. While some have argued that this cuts off the leg line, all it takes is choosing the right clothing to make this style of boot a winner in your wardrobe.

1 Long and Streamlined

Make the look long and lean by wearing skinny jeans or leggings with heeled mid-calf boots. Pull the boots over a pair of dark-wash skinnies and team with an off-the-shoulder sweater or blousy tunic to balance the sleek bottom half. For a laid-back look, rock brown stacked-heel mid-calf boots with black leggings, a white boyfriend T-shirt and a colorful printed scarf. The heel of the boot offers just enough height to flatter your leg line and elongate your frame, while the chunky heel keeps the vibe casual.

2 Feminine and Flirty

Pair a feminine skirt or dress with heeled mid-calf boots for a stylish contrast between hard footwear and a soft frock. Pay special attention to the hemline -- your skirt should hit above the knee. This gives enough space between the hem and the top of the boot, keeping the look fresh. Team an ivory A-line dress in a lace or eyelet fabric with slouchy cognac boots. Or opt for mid-calf cowboy boots for a cute country outfit. Wear earthy wood jewelry or a pair of feather earrings to complete the boho-Western vibe.
