How to Write a Message to a Facebook Friend

Facebook provides two ways to send messages to your friends. The first is via the profile page, also known as the Timeline, and this is visible to the recipient and anyone they have allowed to view their Timeline posts. This kind of post is best for messages that you don’t mind others reading, such as birthday wishes or quick hellos. The second option is through the private message system. As the name implies, these messages are visible only to you and your friend.
