You’ve picked out the perfect dress to wear for a special night out, but then you find it in that never-ending heap of clothes on your bedroom floor -- completely covered in wrinkles. Instead of tossing it back in the pile or scrambling to wash and dry the dress, you can get rid of those pesky wrinkles without ever putting the garment in the washer.

Put the dress on a clothes hanger. Hang it in a spot where it can flow freely, like from a door frame or towel hook.

Mix 1 cup of water and 1 tsp. of liquid fabric softener into an empty spray bottle. Put the lid on and give it a good shake to mix up the liquids. While fabric softer may be more effective at getting out the wrinkles, you can use plain water if necessary.

Hold the tip of the bottle about 12 inches from the fabric and mist the liquid onto the dress. Use downward strokes as you mist the liquid onto the dress. If the wrinkles are isolated to just certain areas, focus your attention on those spots rather than worrying about the entire dress.

Rub your hands over the dress as you spray to help smooth out the creases. Leave the dress hanging in a well-ventilated area so the moisture can dry.

Take your dress into the bathroom while you take a hot shower if the wrinkles are especially stubborn. Close the bathroom door and let the dress hang freely on a clothes hanger the entire time you’re in the shower. The steam from the water will help soften the wrinkles.
