Thanks to natural fruit acids, high levels of beta carotene and a healthy dose of vitamin C, mangoes are a solid way to replenish your skin. When you use the fruit as a facial mask, it delivers potent ingredients to brighten, smooth and even out your complexion. Eating mangoes helps brighten the complexion from the inside out. Because they’re also relatively inexpensive, mangoes can be used regularly for a cheap and easy way to rejuvenate your skin.

1 Nature’s Way to Smoother Skin

Mangoes can make skin feel healthier, younger and smoother, says Karen Ansel, a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, in "U.S. News and World Report." When used topically, mango acts as an excellent chemical exfoliator. Natural fruit acids, also known as alpha hydroxy acids, occur naturally in the mango fruit, breaking down the bonds that form on dead skin. Leave mango on your skin for just 15 to 20 minutes, and then dead cells can be more readily washed away, leading to smoother, more even-looking skin. Eating mangoes is just as important as applying the fruit topically. High carotenoid levels improve skin color and glow from the inside out. And, when eaten, mangoes have also been shown to reduce acne, unclog pores and minimize breakouts.
