The actual formula for converting Centigrade to Fahrenheit is that we need to take 9/5ths of the degrees written in Centigrade, add 32 to it and that will give us our Fahrenheit temperature. Find out about a shortcut way to convert centigrade to Fahrenheit with help from an experienced mathematics professional in this free video clip.
Hi, my name is Marija, and today I'm going to show you a shortcut way to convert Centigrade to Fahrenheit. So, the actual formula for converting Centigrade to Fahrenheit is that we need to take 9/5ths of the degrees written in Centigrade, add 32 to it and that will give us our Fahrenheit temperature. But, this is very difficult to remember. So, what we can do is just estimate this formula. 9/5ths is close to 10/5ths and that's two, so we're going to change this to two times the number of degrees in Centigrade and 32 is close to 30, so we're going to estimate that to be 30 and that's going to be an estimated conversion into our Fahrenheit temperature. So, this is a little bit easier to remember than 9/5ths C plus 32. So, for example, if you have one degree Centigrade, we're just going to do two times one is two plus 30 gives us approximately 32 degrees. In reality, it's about 33.8, so we're not that far off. That's a shortcut way to convert Centigrade into Fahrenheit.
