Christian girls enjoy the same things other girls do. They like to laugh and compete. Fun games for Christian girls don't need to be boring. However, fun games geared toward Christian girls have a biblical dimension and encourage the girls to be godly women who lift up and help others.
Have the girls in the group make a circle. The first girl whispers something into the ear of the second girl. The second girl whispers the same message into the ear of the third girl and so on around the circle. The last girl shares what she thinks she heard. Often the message gets very garbled as it is repeated from girl to girl. To play with Christian girls, make this game an esteem-building game with simple rules. The message should be something nice or encouraging about another person in the group. As the message goes around, it still might get a bit garbled. If this is a class, you can explain how gossip, even if it starts with some truth, often ends up becoming totally untrue. Encourage the girls not to start or repeat gossip.
Who Am I?
Girls have many examples from the Bible, including Mary the mother of Jesus, of positive womanhood. Create cards with biblical passages and three facts about biblical role models. These would include Esther, who was willing to die for her people; Ruth, who left her home to take care of her mother-in-law; Miriam, who watched over her brother Moses; and Deborah, who led the Israelites to victory when the military leader didn't have the courage to do so. Other examples include Naomi, Hannah, Elizabeth and Dorcas. Mix up the cards and have each girl choose a card. They are not to share what name they received; instead, have them first look up their woman in the Bible. Each girl takes a turn. During her turn the girl gives one clue at a time of who they represent until the others guess who she is. The girl with the most points wins. This can also be played in teams.
The Positive Role Model
Give each girl a piece of paper and a Bible. Have them list the strengths of the godly woman as mentioned in Proverbs 31:10-29. Girls might wish to work on their list in pairs. List their findings on the board. The person or pair with the most items wins. Have girls share who in their life is a positive Christian woman role model and why.
I Want To Be
From Proverbs 31, ask the girls to clap in rhythm as they say, “I want to be a Proverbs 31 woman because she is _ (add something from the list such as 'thrifty').” The girls must not break rhythm or their clapping as they speak. The next girl says, “I want to be a Proverbs 31 woman because she is thrifty (or whatever the first girl says) and _ (she adds another item such as 'kind').” Each girl, in rhythm, adds to the item list until someone either forgets some of the items or forgets to clap. The traits used must be one of the traits of a godly woman from the Proverbs passage.
