On a large envelope, you can fit the suite number on one line.

The way you address your envelopes sets the tone for your letter. Following proper etiquette shows that you care. When a recipient's address has a suite number, things can get a bit more complicated. The correct way to write the envelope depends on how much space you have on the envelope.

Address Etiquette

The proper way to write an address is to spell all of the words out, using only three lines for the full address. Thus, an address with a suite number would look like this:

Ms. Alexandria Bright 54 Park Boulevard, Suite 501 Los Angeles, California 90001

However, if you have a small envelope and you can't fit the full delivery address on a single line, the United States Postal Service states that you should place the suite number on the line before the delivery address:

Ms. Alexandria Bright Suite 501 54 Park Boulevard Los Angeles, California 90001
