Math Projects on Fruits

Transcript

Hello, my name is Tiffany Overton. And I am the founding partner of Eldridge Overton Educational Programs. Today, I'm going to talk about an activity that you can use with your children that involves a couple of pieces of fruit and a bar graph. Now in this activity your child is going to estimate the weight of several different pieces of fruit. We'll take the lemon. I'm going to estimate that it weights oh about four ounces. And then I actually weight it. And then once again I plot both my estimate and it's actual weight. Once you have all of your results you plot them and then you display them. You can extend this activity even further by asking, which fruit was the easiest to estimate? Which fruit was the most difficult? And once your child is done with this activity they won't realize that they've completed a data analysis activity. Again my name is Tiffany Overton. I am the founding partner of Eldridge Overton Educational Programs. I hope that you found this video useful and I thank you for watching.
