The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is the leading educational body in Nigeria that provides a General Certificate of Education (GCE) to the country's youth and students. Due to common mistakes students often made before taking the exam --- failing to print their names, gender identification or exam numbers into the prefabricated texts boxes on the front of the test --- incomplete or failing grades often result. Replacing your WACE GCE exam number is an effortless process --- even if you lose your photo ID card --- because teachers and administrators want every student to avoid failure via an unnecessary technicality.

Step 1

Contact the WAEC Headquarters. Inform administrators of the loss of your photo card and you need to acquire a GCE number. Provide the administrator with two forms of personal ID or a previously obtained examination registration receipt. Contact the WAEC Headquarters at: Research Division & Headquarters Office, 3 Watchtower Avenue, Onipanu, Somolu, Lagos, Private Mail Bag 1076. Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria or waechqrslagos@yahoo.com.

Step 2

Communicate with the Nigeria National Office (NNO) and repeat the process in step one to ensure an expeditious response. Write to the NNO via hard or electronic mail at: NNO, 21 Hussey Street, Yaba, Private Mail Bag 1022, Yaba, Lagos or hnowaeclagos@yahoo.co.uk.

Step 3

Write to the University of London International Programs Center for additional assistance if necessary: The Information Center, University of London, Stewart House, 32 Russell Square, London, WC1B 5DN or call 44-0-20-7862-8360.
