Flipboard is a free newsreader and content curator application that's available for iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows smartphones and tablets. Flipboard supports a variety of social networks, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr. If you have a Tumblr account, you can connect it to your Flipboard app.

Create a Flipboard Account

Before you can add your Tumblr account to Flipboard, you must create a Flipboard account from within the app. Accounts cannot be created on the Web. Create an account using either your email address or by connecting your Facebook account to the app. You can access your Flipboard account on a variety of devices after it's been created. If you already have a Flipboard account, log in on the device on which you have the Flipboard app installed.

Add Your Tumblr Account

Open the Content Guide by tapping on the red ribbon located on the top right of the app. Tap on the "Accounts" menu to bring up a list of supported social networks. To add your Tumblr account, tap on "Tumblr" from the list of social networks, enter your log-in information and click "Log in." Tumblr will prompt you to grant read and write access to Flipboard. Click on "Allow" to complete connecting your Tumblr account to the Flipboard app.

Access Your Tumblr Account

Access your connected Tumblr account by tapping on the red ribbon and then "My Flipboard." Scroll through the list of subscriptions to your Tumblr account. Tap on the Tumblr icon to bring up your dashboard and posts from Tumblr users you're following. You can flip through Tumblr posts by swiping up or down on the screen. You can also access your Tumblr account from the Cover Stories page by scrolling down until you see the Tumblr icon.

Access Your Tumblr Settings

You can access a variety of Tumblr features by tapping on the "Tumblr" drop-down menu. From here you can access your dashboard, posts you like, your Tumblr blogs, people you follow and people who are following you. Compose new content for Tumblr by tapping on the red ribbon, tapping on the pencil and paper "Compose" icon, and selecting Tumblr from the drop-down menu. Type your message, attach an image if desired and tap "Send" to post the message to your Tumblr blog. If you have more than one Tumblr blog, choose the blog to which you'd like to post the message.
