Online education is growing quickly as technology improves and more students want to earn degrees from a distance or on a flexible timeline or schedule. Today, several dozen schools in the country offer online degrees, with a handful offering master's degrees that students can earn in 12 months.
Boston University is relatively new to the online degree field, but, at the time of writing, offers eight master's degrees fully online. Students can complete two of these programs, a master's of criminal justice and a master's of science in health communication, in a year on an accelerated track. Both degrees require 10 courses, and a full course load is four to five classes each semester. A dedicated student can complete either degree in 12 months.
