The University of Arizona is located in Tucson. On its "Entrance Requirements and Guidelines" web page, the school lays out the factors that contribute to admissions acceptance. The greatest priority is that prospective students achieve a 2.0 minimum GPA in curriculum established by the Arizona Board of Regents. Core courses include English, math, science, social science, language and fine arts.
For out-of-state residents and in-state residents that don't have the necessary curriculum, adequate test scores can fill the gap. A 530 or above on the SAT critical reasoning test helps cover the English course requirements, for instance. A 540 on the math test replaces the math curriculum requirements. Scores in the 590 to 620 range help address the school's science standards. A 560 or above on the SAT American history test works as a substitute for the social science education.
