KoyoteSoft's Free CD DVD Burner allows you to do more than just burn files or folders straight to disc. You can also use the software to write multimedia files to DVD-Video disc or Audio CD, create a disc image or rip audio tracks from a CD onto your computer. The steps to write data to -- or copy data from -- a disc are straightforward: select a project from the main menu, and then choose which action to take from the left pane.

Burn Data to Disc

Step 1

Download and install Free Easy CD DVD Burner from KoyoteSoft (link in Resources). Open the application when setup completes.

Step 2

Choose your language from the options, and then click "OK." Select "Data CD DVD," "DVD-Video" or "Audio CD" from the menu bar, depending on your needs.

Step 3

Click "Add Files to Project" under "File and Folder Tasks," and then select the files to add to the disc.

Step 4

Insert a blank CD or DVD into your disc burner, and then choose the appropriate drive from the "Device" drop-down menu.

Step 5

Click "Burn" under "Action," and then choose a write speed from the "Speed Write" drop-down menu.

Step 6

Enter a label for the disc into the CD Name field, and then click "Burn Now!" in the left pane.

Copy an Unprotected CD/DVD

Step 1

Download and install Free Easy CD DVD Burner from KoyoteSoft (link in Resources). Open the application when setup completes.

Step 2

Choose your language from the options, and then click "OK." Select "Copy CD/DVD" from the menu bar, and then insert the disc to copy into your optical drive.

Step 3

Choose your optical drive from the "Device" drop-down menu, and then click "Copy on Your Hard Disc" to copy the contents of the disc to your computer.

Step 4

Select the hard drive location you want to transfer the data to, and then click "OK" to initiate the process.

Rip Audio From an Unprotected CD

Step 1

Download and install Free Easy CD DVD Burner from KoyoteSoft (link in Resources). Open the application when setup completes.

Step 2

Choose your language from the options, and then click "OK." Select "Audio CD Grabber" from the menu bar, and then insert the disc to rip into your optical drive.

Step 3

Click "Ripper Configuration" under "Option," and then enter a save directory into the Output Path field.

Step 4

Choose what information you want to include in the file name -- such as the track number, song title or album artist -- and then click "OK."

Step 5

Click "Rip Now in MP3" or "Rip Now in WAV" under "Action," depending on which format you want to use.
