As the name suggests, bodycon -- short for body-conscious -- skirts hug every curve and are a great way to show off your figure when they’re styled correctly. Keep your look classy, not trashy, by styling your skirt appropriately for any occasion.

1 For a Night Out

A short bodycon skirt is the perfect start to a fun night-on-the-town look. Offset the tightness of your skirt by choosing a loose, silky tank top to wear with it. Keep your top untucked for a weekend-ready vibe. High heels are a necessity, as they’ll visually lengthen and slim your legs. Add bold footwear to your ensemble with high-heeled gladiator sandals or brightly colored, embellished stilettos. Choose jewelry based on the rest of your look. If your skirt and shoes are eye-popping attention grabbers, opt for simple jewelry that doesn’t compete.

2 At the Office

To make a body-con skirt office appropriate, start by choosing a longer style -- one that comes to your knee or just above is ideal -- and stick with dark, classic colors like black and navy. Pair the skirt with a chiffon or silk blouse, tucked in for added polish. Complete your work look with classic black or nude patent leather pumps, minimalistic jewelry – pearl earrings and a delicate pendant necklace, for example – and a structured leather bag.
