While computers have become a staple in many companies and schools, there are still thousands of people who are unfamiliar and uncomfortable using a computer. They haven't had the training and experience many people have had, and often they feel intimidated by the new technology that's constantly emerging. You can help people conquer their fear of computers by starting a computer training center.

Step 1

Register the center as a business or nonprofit organization. Nonprofit registration should be used if you don't plan to make any money from the operation of the training center, and you or others are doing it as a way to give back to the community. Step 2

Find a facility. Once you've got the training center established on paper, you can find a facility to serve as its physical location. If you don't have enough capital to lease or purchase your own center, you can see if local colleges or community centers with computers can allow you to train people on computers in their facilities.

Step 3

Purchase equipment. While computers are the obvious pieces of equipment needed for a training center, there are other things you will need to purchase. Desks, chairs, and software are needed for the computers, while phones and office supplies will be needed for your staff.

Step 4

Hire staff or find volunteers to train people on computers. Once you've got your equipment set up in your facility, you're almost ready to open to the public. Before this day comes, though, you'll need to hire staff or recruit volunteers to serve as teachers at your training center. While you may need to hire computer experts if you are teaching advanced classes, some of the beginning computer classes can be taught by almost anyone.

Step 5

Market and advertise the training center. It's important that once your business or nonprofit is established you inform the community about the services you provide.
