Many Tumblr themes lack a reblog link on each post, making it difficult for visitors to share your work on their own blogs and give it a wider audience. If your theme lacks this option, you can add it by manually inserting the link code into your theme's HTML. Once you make the change, Tumblr automatically inserts the reblog link into your old posts as well as into any new posts you make.

Step 1

Click "Customize" on your dashboard, and then click "Edit HTML" to view your Tumblr theme's HTML code.

Step 2

Press "Ctrl-F" to activate the search tool, and then enter "{/block:Text}" into the search field (without the quotes). Tumblr takes you to the end of the code section that controls your post content.

Step 3

Insert a blank line before "{/block:Text}," and then type or paste in "{ReblogButton}" by itself (without the quotes).

Step 4

Click "Update Preview." Tumblr's default reblog link appears on your posts in the preview pane. If the link appears at the top of the posts, and you prefer to have it at the bottom, move the "{ReblogButton}" entry higher up in the code, just above the first "</div>" tag you find. You may need to experiment to find the right spot, clicking "Update Preview" after each try.

Step 5

Click "Save" to keep your changes.
