Hiding the dates on your Tumblr blog makes your page look more streamlined and can keep it from looking outdated. Because your blog theme controls the dates, you must edit the theme's HTML code to hide them. Fortunately, it's easy to find the right section of code, and you can disable it simply by commenting it out.

Step 1

Click "Customize" on your Tumblr dashboard to access your theme settings; click "Edit HTML" to view the theme's code.

Step 2

Press "Ctrl-F" to bring up the search field at the top of the code.

Step 3

Enter "{block:Date}" (without the quotes) into the search field. Tumblr takes you to the first block of HTML code used to display dates. The block begins with {block:Date} and ends with {/block:Date}; it may take up several lines.

Step 4

Insert "" after {/block:Date}.. These elements mark the enclosed code as comments, disabling its functionality while keeping it intact should you change your mind later. The final code should look like:

Step 5

Search again for "{block:Date}". If you find another occurrence, repeat the previous step. You may have to do this several times on some themes.

Step 6

Click "Save" when done.
