Apple's iOS 7 mobile operating system includes Dynamic Type, a feature that allows you to customize the size of the text used in certain applications. When you change the iPhone's default font size, all apps that support Dynamic Type adjust their on-screen text accordingly. As the Messages app supports Dynamic Type, you can use this setting to increase or reduce the size of text messages. Reducing text message font size is useful if you want to fit more messages onto your iPhone's screen at one time.
Tap the “Settings” icon to open the iPhone's main Settings menu.
Tap “General” and then select “Text Size.” The phone will display the Text Size slider.
Drag the slider to the left of the screen to make Dynamic Type text smaller. The size of the text messages will be smaller the next time you open the Messages app.
- You can also make your iPhone's Dynamic Type bold. To do so, open the Settings menu and select "General." Tap "Accessibility" and set the “Bold Text” toggle to the “On” position. Restart your iPhone for the bold text setting to take effect.
