With a free Hypster account, you can turn your Tumblr blog into an audio haven for yourself and your visitors. Hypster offers a variety of player skins and the tools you need to customize its appearance for your blog. You don't have to be an uber geek to do this. All you have to do is create a playlist and then copy the player's code from the Hypster website into the HTML code of your blog.
Go to hypster.com and log in. If you don't have an account, click the "Register" button and create a free account. You will need to verify your email address before your account is active.
Create a playlist by clicking the "Listen" tab and then selecting "Search Music." As you find songs you like, click the "Add Song to My Playlist" button beneath each video.
Click the "Create" tab and select "Player" from the drop-down menu. Select any of the available player skins. A new page opens with customization options. You can change the player colors, select "Autostart" or "Shuffle Playback" options depending on how you want your player to look and perform on your Tumblr website. A preview is displayed on the right, showing you what it will look like when it's on your website.
Click the "Get Code" button at the bottom of the page. Highlight the code that displays and copy it to your computer's clipboard by right-clicking it and selecting "Copy."
Log in to your Tumblr account. Click the gear-shaped "Settings" button at the top of your Tumblr dashboard and select the name of your blog in the left menu. Select "Customize" from the Theme section.
Click the "Edit HTML" link under your blog's name. Type "<body>" in the "Search field" above the code to locate the body of your blog. Place the cursor on the right of the<body> tag to create a new line and then press "Ctrl-V" on the keyboard to paste the Hypster player's code into the page.
Click the "Update Preview" button to see how the player will appear on your Tumblr blog and then click "Save." When visitors view your blog, they can listen to your favorite music.
