How to Fill Out a Foreign Address
If you've ever sent a package to a location outside the United States and had it returned because the address was not filled out correctly, then you know not only the frustration but the cost involved in such an error. International mailing can be expensive, so to ensure your mail gets properly delivered, take the time to fill out the address correctly. 1 Print the delivery address
Print the delivery address in English using all uppercase letters. Write the address lengthwise on one side of the parcel or envelope.
2 Print the name
Print the name of the addressee on the first line of the destination address.
3 Print the addressee's
Print the addressee's street address or post office box number on the second line of the destination address.
4 Print the city or town name
Print the city or town name, followed by the other principal subdivision (e.g. province) and the postal code on the third line of the destination address.
5 Print the country name
Print the country name on the fourth line of the destination address.
6 Check the foreign address
Check the foreign address a few times to ensure you've filled in all of the proper information. When complete, it should look something like this:
7 JOHN SMITH 555 EXAMPLE ROAD MADE-UP-TOWN
JOHN SMITH 555 EXAMPLE ROAD MADE-UP-TOWN, ONTARIO WIP 6HQ CANADA
