If a Tumblr blogger you follow posts a GIF that you want to share with your own followers, you can simply click the "Reblog" button at the bottom of the post, which looks like two arrows forming a rectangle. When the reblog window appears, type your own caption and click "Reblog Post." If you found a GIF elsewhere and want to post it, you must upload it to a post and then add your own caption.
Find an animated GIF that you want to share on Tumblr. Right-click the GIF and select “Save As” or “Save Image As.” Select “GIF Image (*.gif)” in the Save as Type box and save the file to a location where you can easily locate it, such as your desktop.
Log in to Tumblr. Click the "Photo" button to open the Photo Post window. Click "Choose up to 10 Photos." Navigate to the GIF file you want to post. Select it and click "Open."
Click inside the Caption box. Type the caption you want to add and click "Post" to blog the GIF with the caption.
- Choose GIFs with smaller file sizes, as those larger than 1MB or more than 500 pixels wide may not appear correctly. To determine the file size, right-click the GIF file saved on your computer and select “Properties.” The size is displayed on the General tab of the Properties dialog box.
