Blackheads seem to pop up out of nowhere and dot your skin with oil-filled specks. But you don’t have to sit back and let blackheads ruin your complexion or spend a fortune on products to banish them. Choose an all-natural product for exfoliating blackheads: oatmeal. It’s slightly coarse, so it scrubs away dead skin that clogs your pores -- it also removes blackhead-causing bacteria and oil. Fight blackheads head on with a simple, homemade, oatmeal exfoliant.

Put ¼ cup of uncooked oats into a bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt. Stir the mixture with a spoon so all the ingredients are combined.

Wash your hands with soap and water. Scoop some of the mixture from the bowl, then scrub it onto your face with your fingers using small, circular motions. Massage it into your skin for about one minute, paying special attention to the areas of the face with blackheads.

Leave the mixture on your face for about five minutes or until it has dried. Rinse it off with cool water, then pat your face with a towel to dry.

Spread cool, cooked oatmeal onto your face for another way to treat blackheads. Follow the instructions on the package for cooking the oats. Apply the cooked oatmeal to the areas of your face with blackheads. Leave it on for 15 minutes, rinse with cold water and pat your face dry.
