Samsung Galaxy phones automatically update your apps by default. These updates can slow down your phone, drain your battery and cause you to go over your data limit. You can adjust the settings in the Google Play app to turn off automatic downloads and free up your phone for more immediate uses.

1 Tap the Google Play icon

Tap the "Google Play" icon.

2 Press the Menu key

Press the "Menu" key and tap "Settings."

3 Tap Auto-update apps

Tap "Auto-update apps" and select "Do not auto-update apps."
