Most people rely heavily on their Visa credit or debit cards to access cash or credit. Although not done frequently, you should be aware of how to change the PIN (personal identification number) on your Bank of America Visa card if you have one. Knowing how to change your PIN in a variety of ways is part of managing your credit and keeping your card safe from fraudulent activity. You can manage your Bank of America PIN with or without your card.

Call for the PIN

Whether you lost your current PIN or you simply forgot which number you selected when you set the card up, you can call Bank of America's Financial Center at 1-800-432-1000 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. every Monday through Friday or between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Let the customer service representative know that you need a reminder for your PIN and he or she will promptly mail the reminder to you.

Visit Your Local ATM

The next time you are near your Bank of America ATM, insert your card into the machine. From the main screen you'll need to press "More Options," and then you'll see the "Change PIN" button. You'll be asked to type in your old PIN and then the digits you'd like for your new PIN.

Use Bank of America's Website

You can change your PIN securely by logging onto your account through the Bank of America website. To do this, you'll need your online ID and passcode. Once in your online portal you'll see the "Reset your PIN on card" option. Simply click that link and follow the prompts to choose a new PIN for your Visa card.

Download BOA's Mobile App

Both Android and iPhone users are welcome to download Bank of America's mobile app. After the mobile app is installed on your phone, you can log in and locate the link that allows you to request a new PIN.

Visit a BOA Branch

Go to a local Bank of America bank branch and request a PIN change from the teller or customer service representative. The local branch has access to your information to change your PIN and enable you to properly assign a new code. Be careful not to disclose the PIN you are selecting to anyone, or to say the number out loud to the teller when other customers are present in the bank.
