In theory, a speeding ticket has no direct correlation with your credit worthiness. In fact, if you responsibly pay a ticket by its due date your credit score is unaffected. However, you can run into credit problems if you ignore or fail to pay your ticket in a timely manner.

Collections Implications

As with other types of bills or debts, a speeding ticket impacts your credit if the agency you owe reports you to a collections agency for nonpayment. Local, county and state governments have little sympathy for people who don't pay up. If you want to avoid collections and a negative credit report, you need to pay your ticket or contact the government office to make arrangements.
