If you change the name of your Samsung Galaxy phone, the change is applied to all apps and features. The name that appears when you connect via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Direct is changed automatically. Furthermore, all apps that need the device name -- including Kies and Explorer -- will use the new name as soon as you change it. You can change the name of your phone as many times as you like, but you shouldn't include any personal information.

1 Press the Home button

Press the "Home" button to return to the Home screen on your Samsung Galaxy and then tap the "Settings" icon. If you deleted the icon, tap the "Apps" icon and then tap "Settings."

2 Tap

Tap the "More" tab to view more settings and then tap "About Device" to view more information about your device.

3 Tap Device Name

Tap "Device Name" to enter editing mode, type a new name and then tap "OK" to change the name of your Galaxy phone. Press the "Home" button to return to the Home screen.
